Stationary Fantasies is a retail project set within Jeddah’s evolving commercial landscape, where contemporary retail spaces increasingly prioritize experience, atmosphere, and emotional engagement. Responding to this shift, the project embraces a light, airy, and bright spatial language that transforms shopping into a playful and uplifting experience. The design reflects a growing cultural appreciation for curated objects, gifting, and environments that inspire creativity and imagination.

The client is a popular Jeddah-based store opening a new branch, offering a diverse selection of home accessories, furniture, silverware, ceramics, and gifts. With an established local presence, the brand sought a space that reflects its playful identity while remaining refined and welcoming. Located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the project spans 500.58 square meters across two floors, requiring a cohesive approach that maintains openness and visual continuity while encouraging exploration between levels.

The architectural concept is driven by the idea of lightness and fantasy, expressed through custom shelving display units and island display units that appear visually curved, light, and softly sculptural. These elements organize the space without enclosing it, allowing natural flow, layered views, and moments of discovery. The layout promotes a non-linear retail journey, inviting visitors to move freely, interact with products, and experience the store at their own pace.

Material choices further enhance the airy and bright atmosphere through a restrained palette, relying on variations in texture and finish rather than strong color contrasts. focused on white tones and subtle textural variation. Glossy white wood veneer reflects light and amplifies spatial brightness, while textured white wood veneer introduces warmth and tactility. A rough white stucco finish adds depth and a handcrafted quality, balancing the smooth surfaces. Light blue and white vinyl flooring introduces a subtle sense of movement and play, supporting zoning and circulation across both floors

Overall, Stationary Fantasies presents a retail environment that balances functionality with imagination, supporting the client’s expansion while contributing to Jeddah’s contemporary retail culture. The project transforms everyday shopping into an engaging spatial experience, encouraging creativity, exploration, and connection through thoughtful design and material expression.
